Since when it has been mandatory
The fertilisation plan has been mandatory in Spain since 1 September 2026, the date the new Spanish sustainable nutrition rules came into force.
What a fertilisation plan is
It is the fertilisation plan for your holding: which nutrients you apply, how much and when, matched to what the crop actually needs and to the characteristics of your soil. It is not merely an administrative requirement: done properly, it stops you applying — and paying for — fertiliser the crop does not need.
What it has to contain
- Identification of the plots and crops.
- The crop’s nutrient requirements.
- Planned and actual applications.
- Available analyses (soil, water) where applicable.
The mistake of calculating for an «average farm»
Generic tables calculate for an average holding, not for yours. The Orcelis engine works out your exact water and nutrient requirements from your real cropped area (planting spacing × number of plants), and shows you the reasoning behind every recommendation.
How to get it done without paperwork
With Orcelis Free you create and maintain your fertilisation plan and export the official logbook as a PDF. And if you want to fine-tune the savings, the precision agronomic calculations are in there too.
Quick questions
- How are hectares counted? By real cropped area, not by cadastral parcel.
- Is the free logbook from my autonomous community enough? For recording, yes; for calculating irrigation and fertilisation, no.
